This website is the home base for those runners who intend to base their running performance improvement on the principles established by Owen Anderson,PhD. Most participants attended Owen's Vermont Running Camp, July 2013, and several who plan to attend his camp in 2014. Though, everyone is welcome who aspires to improve their running performance by using the modern science based training [SBT] paradigm.
Self-coached? As a practical matter, most amateur runners are self-coached. Self coaching has a fundamental problem, one needs sufficient prerequisite knowledge to make informed decisions. There are an enormous number of training programs and books from which to choose, how does one select the best for them? Also, there are two types of training programs; the traditional and the modern, running science based paradigms. A lot of runners begin their training following generic advice or doing what they have read as conventional wisdom since that's the way it has always been done. The SBT program is suitable for new runners as well as very experienced racers. The fundamentals are the same, regardless.
