Fundamentally, performance improvement training requires careful balancing of these three factors:
- The time available for training. Smaller time available requires more care for the next two
- Avoiding injuries which can interrupt the training program or prohibit the runner from running the target race
- Selecting the proper training tools [workouts] for the intended race target(s) [e.g., training for marathons requires different workouts than for 5K races.]
The following seminars address these issues and will provide you with the knowledge necessary to make informed decisions about your training program.
Running Injuries Avoidance Seminar covers the running-science approach to avoid running injuries. You will learn about the new research discoveries that will materially help you avoid the common training caused injuries. See: Running Injuries Avoidance Seminar
Running Economy & vVo2max Seminar addresses the fundamental principal of "Running Economy" and why the concept is important if you want to materially improve your racing performance. We cover how running economy is quantified by vVO2max [velocity at VO2max] and how a good approximation can be made with a simple 6 minute track run. See: Running Economy & vVo2max Seminar
Performance Improvement Workouts Seminar provides practical advice about planning a training program based on the running-science workouts. See: Running Performance Improvement Workouts Seminar
There are nominal fees for the seminars. $20 per seminar and $50 for all three, if paid in advance. The fee is $10 for those who would like to repeat a seminar to refresh their memory. This includes the Injury Avoidance Seminar last August and the Running Economy Seminar this past April.
